We stayed recently at Martessem Resort in Tanay, Rizal, for two nights during a rainy and windy spell (a typhoon had just passed). Despite the gloomy weather, the stunning views were still worth it—cloudy but beautiful. I slept well, thanks to the naturally cold temperature and a comfortable bed. Interestingly, we didn’t need the air conditioning, but it kept turning back on even after we turned it off. I'm not sure if it was a room setting issue or a system glitch, but there was a bit of a back-and-forth throughout our stay. We booked one of their higher-end rooms (M1), and while it was spacious and cozy, some areas looked a bit dated and could use a refresh. I also noticed light stains on some of the pillows and blankets, which was a letdown considering the room price. Food at the resort was great in terms of taste and quality, but the menu was quite limited and priced on the higher side. On the plus side, the staff were very polite and accommodating, which added to the overall positive experience.
Just want to say, what a great experience we had while visiting Martessem Resort. Great staff, great food, great place, and good ambience. I will make sure that I'm going back here at Martessem.
Had a great lunch here when we cycled the Sierra Madre loop. Awesome view, food was delicious, servers are very polite. Be ready with the bill on the drinks though. 5 coke in cans cost us almost 500 pesos. But hey that's the price to pay for the awesome view, right.
The room we checked-in had a few problems (doors are very hard to swing in and out, power is fluctuating), but comfortable in general. The weather at that time was chilly so air-conditioning was not really necessary. Staff were kind and accommodating, especially the one who served our breakfast. The view is really relaxing, though we weren't able to catch the sea of clouds due to inclement weather.
Martessem Rizal restaurant offers a delightful setting with a great view of the mountains and the opportunity to experience a stunning sea of clouds in the morning. Ideal for families and pet-friendly, they specialize in traditional Filipino cuisine including grilled dishes and ensalada. Choosing a kubo to dine in enhances the experience, providing a cozy and authentic atmosphere. The restaurant also boasts easy parking, making it convenient for diners. While the ambiance and views are exceptional, it's worth noting that wait times for service can be longer due to a limited number of servers. Nonetheless, Martessem Rizal remains a recommended choice for its picturesque surroundings, pet-friendly policy, and authentic Filipino dining experience.
Went on June 1-2, 2024. Loved the place! The view was great, we were able to experience part of the sea of clouds even if it was still basically summer. We were also able to enjoy the room and the pool. The service was also noteworthy; the staffs were very accommodating and approachable. The food met the expectations, great set of breakfast! We also tried their cafe at night; food, coffee, cocktail were Thanks to Martessem Resort for the perfect getaway!
Worth the drive, food that we order were served fast and place is neat. Simple but relaxing and breathe taking view/s. Was not able to see the rooms, only the food hall. As usual, with enough parking space.
Breakfast meal is good! If Cafe Katerina sucks this is an upgrade
